Automation Consulting for Law Firms

Get your ducks in a row.

Most people see the value of automation for their law firm, but they're not sure how it's different from AI, or even where to start. That's where I come in. I help law firms — and the professionals who advise them — get their operational ducks in a row and gain clarity before they embark on time-consuming and expensive solutions.

What I offer

01

Education & Workshops for Your Team

The best results are found within informed teams. When your people understand both the value of the tech, and the value of their roles, they play an active part in advancing automation and AI. Treat your team to a customized, focus-group style workshop — they'll learn the basics around automation and AI and come away with inspiration on what the future can look like. (Included in the ARA package.)

02

Automation Readiness Assessments for Law Firms

Education is the first of eight steps in laying the groundwork for our process. From there we take a look at your business goals, the talent of your human team, capabilities of the existing tech stack, and we find the "muck in the gears of your machine." You'll learn where new technology makes the most sense, and where your people hold the most value (hint: it's not in the paperwork).

03

Automation Readiness Expert Consulting

For professionals who service the legal industry — you're already elbows deep in firm process, you understand the client's goals, and you have their ear. The only thing that's missing is the lens of "what can be automated?" That's where I come in. With myriad ways to work together, we'll streamline the assessment process so you can make solid recommendations.

The Assessment Process

Before automation, before AI — we need clarity.

01

Education

First we need to get clear on the functionality and limitations of AI and automation and how that applies to your firm. This discernment will be reflected throughout our process.

02

Goals & Vision

What is your firm actually trying to accomplish with regards to technology, the legal work itself, and your five-year-plan?

03

Structure

How is your firm organized? Who owns what outcomes? How are resources allocated and managed? This is a significant component of how an automation journey unfolds.

04

Human Talent

Your human team is your most valuable asset. Why are they doing the grunt work? What's the value of their reinvested time? Most people have skills and abilities beyond what their jobs utilize.

05

Client Experience

Your clients don't pay you for paperwork. They pay you for peoplework. How valuable would it be to have more time to build relationships, solve problems, and do actual legal work?

06

Workflows and Tech Landscape

Which core processes are driving your legal services, and how are they supported in the current tech landscape? Identifying the "muck," the most time consuming manual processes, is the meat of our work together. These bottlenecks are dragging your productivity.

07

Prioritized Opportunities

Assessed complexity, feasibility, and potential ROI show you where automation offers the clearest wins — and where AI may be worth exploring next.

08

Change Management

Finally, we refer back to the education of our first step to make sure your team is excited about progress. Their buy-in is crucial to success. We'll discuss how new technology paves the way for your team to have more innovation, new roles, and more ideas for improvement. After all - this is just the beginning of your journey!

All eight components come together to show you what your firm's automation journey can look like.

Life is about connection.

I spent over 15 years running a law office, long before I knew about automation or AI. I learned the most — and brought the most value — via the relationships I built, the problems I solved, and the hands-on legal work I did. The paperwork was necessary, of course, but ultimately a drag on productivity and client service. When I learned about Robotic Process Automation, my brain lit up with ideas for how lawyers could offload the grunt work.

Techromatic — now Techrobotic — then situated in healthcare, brought me in almost five years ago to build out an RPA sales structure. Starting from scratch, I became an expert in the technology and what it offered to the enterprise healthcare industry. About a year into the relationship, Techromatic found new tech partners who had democratized the technology, making it accessible to smaller businesses — and law firms. Over the past several years as Director of Automation at Techromatic, I've loved working directly with clients to build out their software robots, but I've identified a couple of key gaps in the marketplace: education around automation/AI, and operational clarity.

Based on this experience, I've evolved my independent consultancy to fill those gaps. For all of those firms that say "I need to get my ducks in a row," I get it. And I'm here to help. Whether I'm working with the firms themselves, or their consultants, I bring the lens of "what can and should be automated," along with my expertise in law firm management, and a propensity for systematizing process. I very strongly believe that people should focus on peoplework while the robots do the paperwork.

Outside of work, I'm deeply involved in advocacy and creating community spaces and connection. I live in Westchester, NY, where I co-founded Croton Pride and Croton for Excellence and Equity in Education. I've moderated panel discussions for the NY NGO on the Rights of the Child, and I founded a 9,000-member global Facebook group supporting parents of transgender and non-binary children. I'm also the author of Meeting My Anxiety and The Meeting My Anxiety Companion Book.

I love connecting over good food, deep conversation, and music.
